KYC Verification Rejected: OCR and Data Consistency Checks

Last Updated: April 2026
Read Time: 8 mins

KYC rejection is not one single problem. The cause may be unreadable document images, expired identity documents, profile data mismatch, proof-of-address format, or a duplicate-account review.

Separate OCR errors from data mismatch errors

Read the rejection reason and fix only the relevant issue. Uploading more documents without understanding the reason can create conflicting records.

Check spelling, date of birth, country, document number, and address against the document. Small differences can move the case into manual review.

If the platform requests source-of-funds or address proof, submit the requested category only through the official upload flow.

Evidence package

Keep rejection screenshots, document type, profile data entered, and support ticket numbers.

Do not buy verified accounts or use another person's documents. That creates a much higher identity and compliance risk.

Risk boundaries

This guide is general information, not legal, tax, investment, or account-recovery advice. If a transaction involves third-party funds, fraud reports, gambling, money laundering, sanctions, or unknown counterparties, stop the transaction and contact the bank, the platform's official support channel, or a qualified professional.

Do not share passwords, 2FA codes, seed phrases, private keys, full card numbers, or remote access. A legitimate support process should not require secret credentials.

Field Notes: Troubleshoot KYC by Failure Type

Treat KYC rejection as one of four categories: unreadable document, profile-data mismatch, unsupported document type, or manual risk review. The evidence package should include the error text, submission time, document type, country, and what changed between attempts. Repeating the same upload without fixing the cause usually adds noise to the review trail.

If the request involves proof of address, source of funds, or enhanced due diligence, do not replace it with a basic ID upload. Those requests answer different questions. Keep original PDFs, bank statements, pay slips, or tax records intact and submit them only through official channels.

Sources and Review Basis

This guide is for risk education and record preparation only. It is not legal, tax, investment, bank, or account-recovery advice. Always confirm account, KYC, fiat, and P2P requirements through official channels.
